Finished reading Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris – I honestly doubt that I will pick up another one of his books. This is a semi-autobiography of his life, which he tells quite well and humorously at that, but all in all, his life wasn’t one I’m overly happy to have read about. He pretty much is the EXACT opposite of myself, and oftentimes while reading, I would think to myself, “He likes THAT?!” or something similar. He’s not someone I would want to meet or even attempt to start a conversation with.
I was talking about the most important goals in my life. At 23, there isn’t much that I know – what I want, what I will do later on, etc. But I think I realized, at this point, what is most important to me:
- Writing words
- Creating art
- Exploring the earth
- Having a family
Everything else is irrelevant, or less important. These things are what drive me, what make me happy, what I want my life to be filled with. And I’ve realized that I’m on a good path to achieving these things.
